CARTEN100
Starting in 2004, the CARTEN100 challenges cyclists to ride the 100miles between Cardiff to Tenby all in the aid of charity. STARC has sponsored the event for several years with employees also donning the lycra and completing the ride themselves.
To date, the CARTEN100 has raised over 330,000 pound for numerous good causes and continues to do so. More information about the CARTEN100 can be found at www.carten100.com
California Bike Ride
STARC’s Chris Philips joined 50 other cyclists in a gruelling five-day challenge to travel from Yosemite National Park to San Francisco in aid of Velindre Cancer Centre, based in Cardiff.
The Welsh group, including a selection of Welsh Rugby legends, completed the 390km adventure across the tricky terrain of California in 100-degree heat and against fierce headwinds, finishing at San Francisco’s icon Golden Gate Bridge. In total over quarter of a million pounds was raised fro the centre, with 10,000 pound raised thanks to STARC’s participation in the event.
